Cheap Flight Ticket from Doha to Phuket

I had 2 weeks vacation in Thailand, we decided to start in Phuket before Bangkok for one reason that there is no international flight to Doha from Phuket .
Also note that there is no international flight to Phuket from Qatar, thus leaves you with no other choice but to have a quick layover in Bangkok.

If you’re looking for cheap flights going to Phuket from Qatar, I recommend to book from Oman Airways/ Kuwait airways directly rather than booking from Travel agency.

In my case I planned  my trip 3 months ahead and I was able to booked a return ticket via Oman Air for only QR2,000 with below iterinary DOHA-MUSCAT-BANGKOK-PHUKET. By the time we landed in Bangkok, a lady was waiting for us with our name to assist us with our connecting flight.

NOTE:
-Oman airport is quite small for long hours layover, they only have specific waiting area for connecting flights.
-Get ready with long walk to reach boarding gate to Phuket - that was probably the reason why somebody fetch us, so we don't get late LOL.

DAY 1: Going Around Yerevan, Armenia

After booking your hotel and flights, next thing is to plan for your itinerary.

Since our hostel is located in the heart of Yerevan, going around the city was the first agenda we had.
We arrived before lunch and during those time the weather was perfect (June) for strolling. It was sunny and windy but no humidity. You will notice most of locals just started leaving their home for work and stroll around after 12 noon.

1. CASCADE - You should start with cascade before you even get tired walking  plus there are plenty of museums and statues along the way.
Tips: rather than hiking the stairs, you can actually take an escalator under the cascade for free.

2. WALK ALONG NORTHERN AVENUE-while on our way to Republic Square, walk thru the Norther Avenue for window shopping, coffee and picture taking. The place gets really crowded in the afternoon especially at night.

3. REPUBLIC SQUARE - Walking thru Northern Avenue will lead you to Republic Square where you can find the dancing fountain, history museum and Marriott Hotel.

4. NIGHT LIFE - The city might look provincial to you, but the locals also enjoy night life. Meantime if you're tired you can have a dinner and try their local cuisine. Btw since day light is longer, dinner time might be late but we took ours at 6pm (below). Our tour guide recommended dinner at Tavern .

Armenia AIirport- Zvartnots International Airport Arrival

Currently Armenia has 2 major airports however most of international flights are arrives and depart from/to Zvartnots International Airport which is approximately 20 minutes from/to downtown or probably less because traffic is less likely.

Not to worry Zvartnots International Airport is not a huge airport, once you get down from plane it will directly bring you to foreign exchange booth and visa processing. Make sure you have exchange your currency to USD before even flying as they dont accept most of foreign currency other than USD.  Once you exchange your USD to Armenian Dram (AMD) make sure to count before leaving we had bad experience here especially if they feel you're a first timer.
You needed the AMD to pay the visa (Filipinos are visa on arrival), once paid there's no other exit but to proceed to immigration, make sure to have your Passport, boarding pass and GCC Residence permit ready and thats it! Welcome to Armenia!

The arrival area of Zvartnots was clean and decent but there's nothing special.

Mr Nante, our tour guide pick us up from the airport straight to the hostel which is part of the QR200 riyal package.

Booking Airline Ticket from Qatar to Armenia (Yerevan)

Hi! you're probably planning to travel in Armenia to come across here, you're in right page so i guess lets get started!

CHEAP FLIGHTS!
If you're looking for cheap flights going to Yerevan i highly recommend booking at least a month in advance. In my case it was unplanned trip so i ended up booking with Qatar Airways 3 days before the actual flight which cost me around QR 2500 roundtrip since during that time budget airline were not flying anymore from Doha due to the recent blockade of UAE, SAUDI ARABIA,etc.
Anyhow the average cost of roundtrip flights will be around QR 2000 to 2500.

But if you're not in a hurry and you haven't decided on exact date, i would highly suggest you download CLEARTRIP APP to check out the cheapest flight . I love this app for many reasons, first because its user friendly plus they give out cash vouchers but mainly i only use it to track flights and prices by saving  the trips in my list and it will automatically update me for any price changes.
Then i book the flight directly with the chosen airline website.

If you're originating from Doha, you actually have no other options but to fly thru Qatar Airways . Otherwise you'll end up booking multiple flights  thru MEA, OJSC Sibera  which cost more.

Where to stay in Armenia (Yerevan)

Armenia's capital is Yerevan so as much as possible you might want to book a place around freedom square to save transportation cost going around tourist attraction downtown such as Cascade , window shopping on Northern Avenue, numerous public parks, Republic Squares etc. These places are pretty much walkable (well most of locals just walk) and doesn't get crowded except Republic Square which really gets full packed starting 6pm not to mention day light is longer than night.

But if you're on tight budget and woudn't want to spend much on excursion and hotel, i would suggest booking a tour from locals rather than in house travel agencies. With that i would like to introduce Mr Nante Marilag, he's a filipino living in Yerevan, he provides affordable bed&breakfast and tours all around Armenia as well as Georgia. You could check out his Facebook Page LITTLE MANILA TRAVEL & TOURS ARMENIA and message him directly . You can also book a room in their hostel thru Bookings .

We stayed there last Jun 2018 for Eid Holidays and that time the rate was only for QR 200 for 3 nights inclusive of bed and breakfast as well as countless exclusive group tour all over Armenia (i will get into detail as we go along).

Honestly you don't really need to book expensive hotel for a 3 days tour, with the limited time you would only want to stay outside for sure. All you need is a bed to sleep and a clean toilet. You can pamper yourself when you get back :) .

For us we were actually group of 4, we stayed in one room altogether part of the group tour we booked from Little Manila. The room was just enough for us we shared in bunk bed and 1 queen size bed. Not to mention the Hostel is very close to everything, literally.

Here's the exact room we had.
